Artist Statement -
Jaff Noël Seijas
In the past few years my personal style has been an exploration of creating images on unusual
background materials; including antique vellum documents, old handwritten letters, maps and
nautical charts. These images are attempts to link humanity’s historical past to our current
contemporary milieu and provide a possible sense of continuity via symbols, allegorical figures,
literary and artistic references, all of which might serve as a link to a shared on-going human
experience and possibly underscore the complexity and depth of human personality.
